A+ Repair Technician
This program is designed to covers technical knowledge and skills necessary to become certified as an A+ Technician. Students successfully completing this program will receive a certificate of completion and be qualified to obtain entry-level employment in the following career opportunities:

  • Computer Systems Hardware Analyst

Prerequisite: Office Applications I or equivalent knowledge.

Length of Course: 144 Clock Hours for 12 weeks
This course covers the following topics:

  • System configuration
  • Hardware
  • Troubleshooting and Repair
  • Virus protection and recovery
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Customer Service

Sequence and Frequency:

  • Ongoing based on demand (Minimum of 3 students required)

  • Class days: Monday through Thursday
  • Class times: 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; 2 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.; or

Network + Program
$1995...................72 Hours / 24 Classes

Earning the Network+ certification demonstrates that the candidate possesses the knowledge needed to configure and install Network components. This class covers a wide range of vendor and product neutral networking technologies. Network+ has been accepted by the leading networking vendors such as Novell®, Lotus, 3Com, and Cisco Systems. Classes run from 6 to 8 weeks. Both day and evening classes may be available, call for class schedule. Prerequisite: A+ Certification or equivalent.

MCSE Training Program
The MCSE credential is one of the most widely recognized technical certifications in the industry-a credential in high demand. By earning the MCSE credential, individuals are demonstrating that they have the skills necessary to lead organizations in the successful design, implementation, and administration of the most advanced Microsoft Windows platform and Microsoft server products.

The course materials, lectures, and lab exercises are in English. To benefit fully from the instruction, students need an understanding of the English language and completion of the prerequisites.

Length of Program: Seven courses totaling 320 Clock Hours over 13 weeks (Study lab will be required after each Course completion).

The following is a description of each of the seven MCSE classes. You may take all seven for the complete program, or select individual classes as needed. It is recommended that you meet with a student coordinator to determine your selection.

Course 2151 - 3 days: Microsoft Windows 2000 Network and Operating System Essentials
This course is to provide individuals who are new to Microsoft® Windows® 2000 with the knowledge necessary to understand and identify the tasks involved in supporting Windows 2000 networks. This is an introductory course designed to provide an overview of networking concepts and how they are implemented in Windows 2000.


Prerequisites

  • Proficiency using the Windows interface to locate, create, and manipulate folders and files and to configure the desktop environment
  • General knowledge of computer hardware components, including memory, hard disks, and central processing units
  • General knowledge of networking concepts, including network operating system, server-client relationship, and local area network (LAN)


Microsoft Certified Professional Exams
This course will help the student prepare for the following Microsoft Certified Professional exam:

  • Exam 70-210, Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
  • Exam 70-215, Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Server

Course 2152 - 5 days: Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to install and configure Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional on stand-alone and client computers that are part of a workgroup or domain. In addition, this course provides the skills and knowledge necessary to install and configure Windows 2000 Server to create file, print, Web, and Terminal servers. It also provides students with the prerequisite knowledge and skills required for course 2153, Implementing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure.

Prerequisites

  • Successful completion of course 2151, Microsoft Windows 2000 Network and Operating System Essentials, or equivalent knowledge. This includes the ability to:
    • Describe the principal features of the Windows 2000 operating system and the basics of networking in a Windows 2000 environment.
    • Identify the tools used to perform common administrative tasks.
    • Describe the types of user accounts and the principal security features of a Windows 2000 environment.
    • Describe the features of the common network protocols used in Windows 2000.
    • Describe the fundamentals of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
    • Describe the communication process in a Windows 2000 network.
    • Differentiate between the various types of network architectures.
    • Describe the common hardware components used in network communication.
    • Describe the requirements for Internet access and Web security.

Microsoft Certified Professional Exams
This course will help the student prepare for the following Microsoft Certified Professional exams:

  • Exam 70-210, Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
  • Exam 70-215, Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Server


Course 2153 - 5 days: Implementing a Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Network Infrastructure
This course is for support professionals who are new to Microsoft Windows 2000 and will be responsible for installing, configuring, managing, and supporting a network infrastructure that uses the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server products. It also provides students with the prerequisite knowledge and skills required for Course 2154, Implementing and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services.

Prerequisites

  • Successful completion of Course 2152, Supporting Windows 2000 Professional and Server, or equivalent skills and knowledge, including the ability to:
    • Install or upgrade to Windows 2000
    • Configure the Windows 2000 environment
    • Connect Windows 2000-based client computers to networks
    • Create and manage user accounts
    • Manage access to resources by using groups
    • Manage data by configuring the NTFS file system
    • Provide network access to file resources
    • Configure and manage disks and partitions
    • Monitor and optimize Windows 2000

Course 2154 - 5 days: Implementing and Administering Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Directory Services
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to install, configure, and administer Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory™ directory services. The course also focuses on implementing Group Policy and performing the Group Policy-related tasks that are required to centrally manage users and computers.

Prerequisites

  • Course 2151, Microsoft Windows 2000 Network and Operating System Essentials, or equivalent skills and knowledge.
  • Course 2152, Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server, or equivalent knowledge and skills. These include:
    • Installing Windows 2000
    • Using administrative tools in Windows 2000
    • Configuring hard disks and partitions
    • Creating users
    • Creating and using security groups to manage access to resources
    • Creating and administering printers
    • Setting up and administering permissions for files and folders
  • Course 2153, Implementing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure, or equivalent knowledge and skills. This includes installing and configuring Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), DNS, and Certificate Services.
  • A thorough understanding of DNS, including hands-on experience configuring DNS, and setting up forward and reverse lookup zones.

Microsoft Certified Professional Exams
This course will help the student prepare for the following Microsoft Certified Professional exam:

  • Exam 70-217, Implementing and Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure

Course 1561 - 3 days: Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to design a Microsoft® Windows® 2000 directory services infrastructure in an enterprise network. Strategies are presented to assist the student in identifying the information technology needs of an organization, and then designing an Active Directory™ structure that meets those needs.

Prerequisites
Before attending this course, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Course 2154, Implementing and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services, or equivalent knowledge and skills.

Microsoft Certified Professional Exams
This course will help the student prepare for the following Microsoft Certified Professional exam:

  • Exam 70-219, Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure

Course 2010 - 2 days: Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Migration Strategy
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to select and design a strategy to migrate from a Microsoft® Windows NT® Server 4.0 directory services infrastructure to a Microsoft Windows® 2000 Active Directory™ directory service infrastructure by describing the planning processes and implications involved.

This course is intended for Windows NT 4.0 senior support professionals, architects, and consultants responsible for selecting and developing a directory services migration strategy based on an organization's business needs. This course is also appropriate for those who are on the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Windows 2000 track and wish to acquire the skills necessary to select and develop a directory services migration strategy.

Prerequisites
Active Directory services define the desired infrastructure of an enterprise network and are key to determining which migration strategy to choose. This course requires that students meet the following prerequisites:

  • Successful completion of Course 1561, Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure OR
  • Successful completion of Course 2154, Implementing and Administering Windows 2000 Directory Services
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory planning and design
  • Experience evaluating forest and site designs for the purposes of upgrading

Microsoft Certified Professional Exams
This course will help the student prepare for the following Microsoft Certified Professional exam:

Course 2126 - 5 days: Managing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Environment
This course will provide the knowledge required by system administrators, network administrators, and IT professionals who implement, manage, and troubleshoot existing network and server environments based on the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 operating system.
These skills are generally required in medium to large organizations that maintain 200 to 26,000 user desktops and servers, spanning two to 100 physical locations by using local area networks (LANs) and the Internet or intranets. Additionally, this course provides the skills and knowledge that Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification candidates need to prepare for Microsoft Certified Professional Exam 70-218: Managing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Environment.

Prerequisites
Before attending this course, students must have completed:

  • Course 2151-Microsoft Windows 2000 Network and Operating System Essentials.
  • Course 2152-Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server.
