About Image Quest Photographic Adventures

ohn McCann has been traveling John McCann to Alaska since 1995 and Image Quest Photographic Adventures started guiding photographers in Alaska in 1997.

John's first trip to Alaska was on a retreat with his Shamanic Studies Group, The Dance of the Deer Foundation. He was so inspired by the magic and the energy of Alaska, which was the first of many mystical experiences, that he felt compelled to find a way to bring this adventure to all those who were willing to experience it for themselves.

John is a long-time scenic and nature photographer, who has spent the last twenty years roaming the Rocky Mountains with his father under the guise of "fishing trips" photographing the scenic beauty that is all around us. Image Quest Photographic Adventures, is the fulfillment of John's dream. Part of that dream is guiding fellow photographers, who share his excitement of capturing the "perfect sunset" or the "greatest photo" in scenic landscapes that most people only dream about.

John photographs in both 35 mm and 120 mm format and has an excellent working knowledge of both. He has spent years photographing long exposure times and in low light situations. His sense of composition, color and mood has made his photographs treasures by all those who have had the opportunity to view them or have had the opportunity to purchase one of his limited edition prints. John has lived and worked in the Santa Cruz, California area for 35 years.

The facilities were warm, friendly and accommodating. John McCann is an excellent photographer and host. (The meals were great!!!). We were taken to places and shown scenery that we would never have seen on our own.

Artic Fox wanted to take a moment to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip to Alaska with you this summer. I have always wanted to go but felt it would be a difficult trip without knowing where to go. After all, it is a very large state. Even with all the places we were able to visit with you I realize that we only scratched the surface. Who knows, maybe we will go again next year.

Thank you again for making it such a personable trip. We really like the Arctic Fox and appreciated your cooking as well.
